CAD Software Developer, Sr - 611551
Description
Responsibilities of this position involve a Computer Aided Design (CAD) flow used for the development of switch and router integrated circuit products. This CAD flow is unique in the industry for its support of high-performance asynchronous circuit design. The flow utilizes an extensive code base of internally developed software as well as standard commercially licensed CAD tools.
In this position, you will enhance and maintain this CAD flow by developing design automation specifications, algorithms, software tools, utilities, and regression tests. Contributions may span all aspects of chip development, from front-end design entry to back-end layout automation, simulation, and verification.
Personal initiative, good communication skills, and sound technical judgment will be necessary to successfully tackle the challenges of this position. You will regularly collaborate with and support the users of this flow (design/verification/layout engineers), helping to solve problems and improve development productivity. Solutions may require researching and/or inventing state-of-the-art CAD methodologies. Depending on interest, background, and aptitude, you may also participate in hands-on chip design activities.
Qualifications
The position requires five years of software development work experience, preferably in the field of CAD/EDA Software Development, and a Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
Required technical qualifications include
- At least 5 years experience with the software design life cycle and general software design methodologies, required
- At least 5 years experience with one object-oriented programming language, e.g. Java or C++, required.
- At least 1 year experience with scripting languages such as Perl, TCL, Python, etc., required.
- 1 year of VLSI CAD software development experience, preferred.
- Understanding of algorithm design and complexity analysis, preferred.
- Prior experience in the fields of VLSI design, parallel programming, and/or asynchronous circuit design is preferred.
We will be particularly interested in candidates demonstrating a track record of technical leadership and creative problem solving.
