Purpose of Job
To plan and deliver high-quality, brand and sales-building local marketing activity in the region, in line with Global Strategy and Guidelines.
To support the Global Marketing Director in developing and implementing the appropriate strategies to support the growth of the brand in the region.
To support the Regional General Manager in developing brand-building marketing plans that drive the business forward in the region.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
· Develop marketing strategies for the region.
· Develop and consolidate annual marketing plans for the region.
· Work with the Regional General Manager to meet local budget and sales targets.
· Understand and champion the Vertu brand at a local level, ensuring the presentation of the brand is consistent with the rest of the world.
· Management of the regional Marketing Managers and budgets.
· Strategic management of the PR and Media agencies in the region.
Specific Activities
- Work with the Global Marketing Director and Regional General Manager to develop and implement a clear marketing strategy for the region.
- Using global guidelines, develop a regional marketing plan every 6 months. This activity will be required twice a year in November and May.
- Ensure activities support own retail, partner retail and local dealer plans.
- Work with the media agencies to develop an optimal media plan prior to global marketing approval.
- Work with the Marketing managers and local PR agencies to develop PR strategies for the markets.
- Produce and manage a regional budget for the marketing plans that makes clear the total Vertu spend and contribution from the distributor.
- Gain approval for regional plans from Global Marketing Director.
- Brief the Global Marketing team in a timely fashion to ensure the availability of required coop advertising executions and other required VM and marketing materials.
- Implement agreed plans in an efficient and cost-effective manner, including the implementation of seasonal VM campaigns.
- Via regular dialogue - formal and informal - with customers and retailers/dealers, form a detailed view of local market habits, and use this to develop consumer insights.
- Ensure that marketing and PR activities meet expected levels of ROI.
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Strong educational background
- Minimum of 7 years work experience
- Strong marketing experience gained in either a luxury or luxury retail environment.
- Hands-on experience of developing and bringing plans to market
- Experience of working as part of a Global team, including marketing across multiple countries/regions and disciplines.
- Fluency in English and at least one European language preferably German and/or French
Core Competencies
- Works effectively with a wide variety of people. Can tailor own personal style to suit situation and ensure marketing objectives are achieved.
- Initiative and follow-through. Does not just wait for instructions to be handed out - seizes the initiative to get things done.
- A true team player, happy to get involved at a hands-on level in all aspects of the role.
- A passion for the consumer and the Vertu brand, and for seeking out and applying consumer insights that can build the business.
