Duties & Responsibilities

The FAS is the largest division of the University and comprises Harvard College and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, including undergraduate and graduate admissions; the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences; and the Division of Continuing Education, including the Extension and Summer Schools. The FAS also encompasses academic resources such as libraries and museums as well campus resources and athletics.
The Talent Acquisition Manager is expected to make a high-impact contribution to Faculty of Arts & Science (FAS).
Review and streamline, as needed, all FAS recruiting practices and processes.
Work with HR consultants and FAS hiring managers to facilitate the recruiting and on-boarding process.
Develop and implement creative recruiting strategies that support hiring the best talent.
Partner with FAS hiring managers and department administrators involved in the recruiting process to provide expertise in initiating, implementing, and evaluating recruiting practices and processes that drive a meaningful candidate experience. Enhance FAS’ ability to attract and recruit the strongest talent.
Determine and implement processes to operationalize affirmative action compliance.
Oversee and operationalize diversity initiatives that support affirmative action hiring goals and other projects related to creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment.
Analyze and use recruiting data to identify and address gaps and to leverage opportunities. Develop and implement cost effective solutions that enhance service quality.
Establish and monitor key metrics to measure the overall effectiveness in recruiting efforts and to drive important decisions.
Participate in the development, design and delivery of FAS orientation and on-boarding program.
Communicate and operationalize FAS’ brand message and integrate into FAS’ recruiting efforts and FAS’ employee on-boarding program.
Responsible for overall strategy and vendor management for all contingent workers.
Provide overall relationship management for staffing vendors such as agencies and executive search firms. Oversee and influence the contracting process to ensure consistency, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Work with FAS department leaders to assess and optimize recruiting strategies across FAS divisions. Document and communicate processes across FAS.
Participate in University-wide employment related meetings and projects.
Manage a small team of two (recruiter and coordinator).
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of progressive human resources experience, with at least 5 yrs experience in high volume recruiting preferably in an academic environment.
Experience managing a full-life cycle recruitment function required
Additional Qualifications Master's Degree preferred
Ability to work collaboratively on a team.
Must be proactive, customer focused and responsive.
Ability to prioritize work, flexibility, and attention to detail are essential.
Ability to consult effectively with multiple customers in a decentralized environment and to develop close working relationships with client groups and cultivate strong professional relationships.
Proven judgment and ability to influence others as necessary.
Track record of high performance in customer-oriented environment; excellent organizational and communication skills; outstanding interpersonal skills.
Must have knowledge and experience with successful recruiting programs, diversity recruiting, and identification of applicant sources.
Proven experience in building, managing and measuring an internal search and sourcing capability.
Working knowledge of effective social media recruitment tools.
Comprehensive recruitment knowledge and analytical skills.
Solid knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
Demonstrated success in providing recruitment solutions for multiple client groups.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and recruitment and sourcing technology
