The Department of Psychology, in the College of Arts &
Sciences at Seattle University, invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor in Psychology to begin in September 2014. The
psychology faculty represent a variety of perspectives, and strongly
value dialogue between disciplines. The graduate (MA) program is
distinctive in its phenomenological orientation, interdisciplinary
emphasis, and approach to providing a solid philosophical and clinical
foundation for therapeutic practice. For more information, see

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching
undergraduate courses including introductory writing for psychological
research and phenomenological psychology. At the graduate level, s/he
will teach courses in both ethics, and phenomenology as it relates to
clinical practice. Responsibilities also include advising in both
undergraduate and graduate programs, potential supervision of
undergraduate Departmental Honors and MA theses, a productive research
program, and service to the school/university.
Requirements: Demonstrated success in teaching and scholarship, and
knowledge of the liberal arts tradition of education. Scholarship and/or
teaching interest in the areas child and family psychology is also
welcome. Preferred: Licensed or license-eligible in the State of
Washington. Salary will be commensurate with experience and
qualifications.
