The Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor,
invites applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in
Biopsychology to begin September 1, 2014, pending authorization. These
are university-year appointments.
We encourage applications from scientists who conduct research in any
area of Biopsychology, from behavioral neuroscience to evolutionary and
comparative biopsychology. The specific area of research interest is
open, but preference will be given to individuals who conduct (a)
research in comparative biopsychology, conducting laboratory and/or
naturalistic studies or (b) research in systems/circuit-level
neuroscience.
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g.
Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology) by the time the position starts, must
have a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and will be
expected to establish an independent research program. Submit a letter
of intent, curriculum vitae, a statement of current and future research
plans, a statement of teaching philosophy and experience (including any
evidence of teaching excellence), and representative publications.
