Description and Desired Qualifications
Job Purpose:
Potential inability of currently assigned Resident Engineer to relocate to Oman.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Management of site team;
Monitoring contractor’s progress and reporting to client;
Qnticipation and warning on issues which may impact on targeted time or cost outcomes;
Monitor the contractor’s monthly payment applications and report with recommendations to client;
Monitor the approved construction programme and ensure that the contractor is completing the works in accordance with the schedule;
Manage the process of changes;
Evaluation of the cost and time impacts of changes and variations;
Monitoring HSE and enforcing the HSE policies;
Ensuring that works are constructed in accordance with the design and contract documentation;
Liaison with the client, contractor and design consultant representatives, providing the single line of communication between the client and contractor;
Responsible for delivery of the project to time, budget and quality constraints;
Performance appraisal of Halcrow site staff and assistance in selection of new recruits;
Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
Basic Qualifications
Job Requirements:
15- 20 years (though less will be considered if experience is particularly relevant)
Geotechnical design experience
Experience in similar roles on site, particularly large scale earthworks packages involving blasting and filling works
Maritime site experience beneficial but not essential;
Engineering Degree (preferably Civil)
Chartership by recognised professional body beneficial
