Job description

An experienced Telco Project Manager is needed for the GBS Global Center of Competence for Telecommunication, Media and Entertainment. Responsible for leading large complex Telco Projects or significant segment(s) of large complex Contracts. Requires knowledge of the Telco Industry and processes, more specifically around BSS/OSS and/or SDP/IMS. Is responsible for performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality, appropriate business measurements as well as responsibility for revenue and profit objectives of the project or contract.




Maintains professional knowledge of market segment / industry / technology / discipline trends and is recognized for business acumen by the client or customer set supported. Leads a team in the initiating, planning, controlling, executing, and closing tasks of a project (or segment of a contract) to produce the solution deliverable. Can participate in and lead a wide range of process activities beginning with the request for proposal through development, test and final delivery. Formulates partnerships between customer, suppliers, and IBM staff to address issues and opportunities for IBM and the client.




For Strategic Outsourcing and/or Application Management, is responsible for organizing and leading a cross functional team in developing and implementing project deliverables, with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency. Provides direction to the Product Development Team (PDT), project staff and suppliers. Global knowledge sharing and management is key to IBM's success. Individuals will be responsible for the creation, harvesting, protection, and reuse of IBM's intellectual capital. Individuals will participate actively in knowledge sharing activities like communities of practice, forums, conferences and/or other knowledge exchanges. Readiness to travel within the region and globally is required.




Required:

At least 5 years experience in the following areas:

Outsourcing Operations, Applications, and Services

Project management, team leadership, and client relationship management in support of the delivery of business and/or technical project solutions




Leadership

Client Negotiations

Developing executive level relationships, with prior experience in the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts

Guiding & facilitating exec level business decisions & performing business analysis such as quantitative & qualitative analysis, business case development, operations analysis, and/or other solutions

Business Partner Management

Problem Solving Technique

Business Development

BSS/OSS Software Application Integration

Billing, Mediation, and CRM

Order to Cash end to end process

Service Delivery Platforms (SDP) / IP Multimedia Systems (IMS)

Independent Software Vendors (ISV)

Consulting experience

Readiness and ability to accommodate extensive global/regional travel (90% or more)

Bachelor's Degree

Strong written, oral communications and presentation skills in English




Preferred:

Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the Telecom Industry. IBM and/or PMI Project Management Certification, or equivalent desired.

Proven ability to lead and support large scale complex projects transforming new or existing processes, operations, or maintaining and delivering existing solutions.

Proven ability to lead/support large systems integration projects.
