The Media eXperience and Analytics Business Unit (MXABU), is developing a product that will dramatically increase Video Search, Collaboration and Information sharing across an enterprise. Combining Cisco's presence in the network with its collaboration tools, MXABU is in a unique position to offer a differentiated and compelling solution for our enterprise customers.




Job Description:

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in MXABU within Cisco Emerging Technology Group (ETG), you will be responsible for performing a variety of QA Engineering tasks including;




- Video streaming, recording, transcoding and Search optimization product testing

- Video and Audio quality testing, system performance & Stress testing, Chassis based platform or appliance testing

- Caching optimizations, content delivery, network protocols

- Build complex test infrastructure for our wide array of distributed computing systems and architecture that span Search for People, Video and Documents.

- Working on the Video content generation, analysis and streaming technologies while also training and mentoring other team members.

- Running automated scripts using ATS, eARMS, QTP, Selenium, TCL and other scripting platform/languages




Your responsibilities may also include aspects of task management, release engineering, task delegation, team coordination, and production monitoring, supporting customers.




Detailed description:

* Create and drive the Quality engineering teams vision for tools and processes that optimize time

to market while focusing on operational efficiencies without sacrificing high quality.

* Performing root cause analysis to identify problems in design and/or implementation

* Ability to define and manage QA projects

* Ability to work cross functionally with all levels of the organization to drive beneficial change.

* Be a part of a new, highly energetic, fun and visible team responsible for the next generation of products

* Work closely with software developers, product managers and program managers to

understand the product architecture and work on identifying, designing or enhancing existing test

frameworks to support back-end test development and unit tests.

* Participate in requirements and design reviews of new functionality.

* Develop and maintain automated front end/back-end test cases, identify test strategies, and automate test cases in a suite of tools that include Selenium/TestNG

* Work closely with developers and system architects.

* Strong work ethic and being self-motivated, driven and having ability to continuously looking for ways to work more efficiently by way of

process improvement or automation is key.

* Must be able to communicate your ideas for consideration and proposal.



Requirements:

* Must have industry experience working within formal QA test cycles (Agile or short cycle iterative releases).

* Strong problem solving skills

* Strong communication skills

* Hands-on experience with back-end and front-end testing

* 5+ years of challenging professional software engineering experience, in web engineering, systems engineering, or desktop applications.

* Strong analytical and debugging skills.

* Excellent communications skills, teamwork, and independent motivation.

* Passion for of any or all of: great user experiences, design, social software, solving really hard engineering problems.

* BS/MS in CS (or equivalent)




Preferred:

* Good working experience in Audio, Video chassis based and appliance products.

* Subjective and Objective Quality testing for Audio and Video.

* Good Experience with SQL, Unix/Linux.

* Good experience running and maintaining TCL, QTP, Selenium scripts

* Experience working with XML and REST

* Excellent understanding of the Windows, Unix/FreeBSD environments

* Able to work in a dynamic environment

* Experience with testing distributed systems

* Web Application Testing Experience
