Job Description: The Unified Communications Network Consulting Engineer will work closely with the sales team, the AS delivery team, Business Units and the Solutions Engineering group in delivery of UC solution designs, test plans and operations guides. This NCE will have to be a team player who actively mentors and learns from peers. This NCE will also be expected to develop and cultivate customer relationships in a deeply complex political climate.




Candidates must be familiar with the following













Cisco Unity, CUE and Unity Connection




Voice Gateways/Gatekeeper




Video




Voicemail Networking




VoIP protocols such as SIP, MGCP, SCCP, H.323, RTP/SRTP




Cisco Emergency Responder (CER)




IP internetworking




Voice critical network functions and features (QoS, SRST, VGs, etc)







Qualifications:




Minimum of 5 - 7 years experience required in Voice and Voice-related disciplines in design and implementation services.




Experience with large, muli-cluster Cisco UC environments




Must have hands on experience with the configuration and support of Cisco UC environments




Minimum Cisco CCVP, prefer CCIE Voice




Networking knowledge (i.e. routers and switches) and an expert level understanding of Cisco UCM.




A strong understanding of dial plan schemes, trunking, transmissions and reporting of trunking and capacity metrics are a must.




Extensive knowledge in VoIP transport such as, H.323, SIP, Inter Cluster Trunking, Call Admission and Control mechanisms, centralization of call processing and Trunking services and network policy enforcement (i.e. QoS).




Experience in configuring Cisco IOS based media gateway devices for ISDN PRI connections, as well as an understanding of advanced IP to IP gateway functionality.




The ability to assemble professional documents based on existing templates, ability to provide accurate job descriptions with needed hours for completion. Must understand project delivery lifecycle management, the concept of a Detailed Design, Test and Certification methodologies, Back-Out and Validation plans and procedures.




Familiarity with next generation technologies such as Unified Communications, Session Boarder Controller (SBC), Session Management, IMS concepts etc. is a must.
