Archive Assistant Job - International Relief and Development






International Relief and Development, (IRD) is a non-profit organization specializing in international development and humanitarian assistance in over 40 countries. IRD works with a wide range of partners to design, implement, and provide technical assistance in the areas of Economic Development, Infrastructure, Democracy & Governance, and Food Security. IRD has been working in Jordan since 2006 and is currently recruiting an Archive Assistant to provide support to two Archive Warehouses.

The Archive Assistant will directly report to the Archive Warehouse Manager. The incumbent of the position will be required to work as an archive team member. Tasks will include the following

• Verifying the documents in project files as per file tracking lists.
• Arranging and organizing hardcopies of archive records, as per the warehouse archiving system.
• Maintaining shelf lists as per directions of supervisor.
• Assisting in archive collections management, including up-to-date shelf list inventory, transfer records, organization of print and electronic files.
• Scanning the archive records/project files if needed.
• Following the workflow processes and working standards set by the project.
• Packing and dispatching archive records to the storage place.
• Assisting other project staff as required.
• Compliance with any policies and procedures related IRD.
• Operating computer systems and devices, scanners, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
• Working in an extremely integrated manner with the team members.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor

Education Requirements:

• BA degree/diploma in Administration or any related field.
Experience Requirement:
• One or two years of experience in archiving. Work with an international organization is a plus.
Required Skills:

Organization skills and time management • Excellent written and oral communication skills both Arabic and English • Excellent interpersonal skills • A cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity • Computer literate with high degree of proficiency and productivity • Able to work comfortably and effectively with or without supervision, either at own initiative or under direction.
