Job description
Responsibilities

1. The Business Analytics Architect is responsible for establishing and executing a vision for the delivery of information and analytics solutions to IBM’s customers.

2. Help IBM’s customers to articulate a BA/BI vision and take a consultative approach in nurturing this vision into reality. Develop, communicate, and execute a vision for meeting stakeholder’s needs. The vision must identify and create distinct competitive advantages for the Customer through the strategic use of information.

3. He/She will be responsible for providing thought leadership regarding business intelligence best practices, and methods of approach. Develop and communicate goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, milestones, and key performance metrics for moving the Customer towards its established vision. Advise customers on how to develop and manage supporting and related business processes/systems.

4. Work with IBM Brands and customer teams, and take a leadership role in envisioning business areas, needs, and requirements that will require BA/BI solutions. Help translate customer’s strategic and tactical business goals into an information agenda through the use of BA/BI solutions.

5. Provide customers with leading industry analytic practices and solutions and articulate global/regional benchmarks from a customer specific perspective.

6. Demonstrate the need and relevance of BA/BI solutions for customers, through a value-based approach.

7. The individual will work on sales plan of 70:30


# Required Skills - Technical and Non Technical

1. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise in the analytics space from strategy to execution.

2. Very strong understanding of data mining, data warehousing, business intelligence/analytics with proven hands-on experience in large Enterprise Wide DWBI Projects.

3. Must have led, and managed teams across the business analytics domain space with strong hands on experience on leading edge technology solutions (with preference to IBM tools and software – Netezza, SPSS, Cognos, InfoSphere
etc). Should have managed multi-platform, multi-domain, large DWBI projects.

4. Strong understanding and experience in building logical and physical data models, metadata modeling, forecasting models, time series analysis, regression analysis, clustering and optimization models, data marts/warehouses etc – across a spectrum of industries. It is critical to demonstrate industry/domain skills in the analytics space.

5. Extensive expertise and/or demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools; designing, reporting and delivering analytical solutions; data management and warehousing, and the strategic use of information. Experience must include strong skills in research, analysis and data management.

6. Strong understanding of DWBI project governance methodologies and approaches.

7. Exposure to cloud based analytics is a distinct advantage

8. Experience managing large complex business intelligence and data warehouse projects.

9. Ability to articulate business benefits/results in an ambiguous customer work environment.

10. Strong leadership skills and ability to build and reinforce client relationships towards long term client-IBM partnership building.

11. Ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develops and executes strategies, and track and measure results.

12. Strong negotiating and consensus building abilities.

13. Significant skill required to work effectively across internal functional areas in situations where clear parameters may not exist.

14. Ability to conduct independent research on economic, business, technology, market, and demographic trends on industries.

15. Ability to carve a future-thinking strategy, action plan, and collaborate with various divisions of the organization ranging from consulting, delivery, software development, outsourcing, marketing etc., - with a view develop an incisive solution value proposition.
