POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Carrier Relationship is responsible for specific Carriers within the business unit. This includes the overall business plan; directly overseeing business and sales functions and providing guidance and leadership to all other aspects of the relationship to ensure overall business goals are met. This includes leading sales management and their respective teams in the promotion, awareness and sales of BlackBerry product and services through a wireless carrier partner and overseeing the mid to long term strategic planning process and defining and articulating the overall sales strategy to ensure all BU sales activity/plans align and support the achievement of quarterly activation/revenue targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Direct and coach carrier sales management team; ensure managers are active in monitoring and managing their respective team's individual and collective performance against quarterly sales targets
Build and maintain executive level sales relationships with the carrier partner to gain an understanding of the carrier's overall business strategies and growth related initiatives
Articulate the BlackBerry value proposition to promote higher levels of mindshare, executive sponsorship and ultimately influence the carrier's sales and marketing plans to support BlackBerry
Develop and communicate mid to long term sales strategies and key priorities to the sales team; work through sales management to identify and execute go-to-market, tactical sales plans within each region/channel
Manage the demand and forecasting planning cycles with the carrier partner and RIM with an emphasis on demand control, forecast accuracy and delivery fulfillment
Influence the positioning of RIM products and services within the carriers' sales and marketing plan via product knowledge initiatives and other channel development activities
Proactively partner with the carriers' product team to effectively implement RIM product offerings within desired timeframes
Support sales managers in accessing and engaging senior level relationships within the carrier and resolving executive level escalations or objections
Partner with RIM Marketing leadership team to identify and develop strategies for targeted marketing campaigns, new product introductions and national programs; ensure marketing activities, resources and spend are appropriately deployed, allocated and directly support key sales objectives
Coordinate with RIM legal and the carrier partner to manage and negotiate the legal terms of contractual agreements and amendments
Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with key internal functional leaders to ensure full awareness of sales priorities and goals; promote a cooperative and pro-active engagement model between teams; assist sales management as needed in securing and deploying internal support and resources to the team
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive knowledge and understanding of wireless product features, functions, market trends and competing technologies
Broad knowledge and understanding of general business operating principles and practices
Ability to define and execute strategic and operational sales plans and lead annual and quarterly business planning processes within the sales team
Extensive knowledge of sales processes and channel partner engagement models
Proven track record of individual sale achievement and driving team, carrier/channel sales performance
Ability to deliver compelling presentations to individuals and groups at all levels
Demonstrated experience successfully leading, coaching, motivating and developing all levels within the sales team
Ability to effectively engage and coordinate cross functional support and activities
Demonstrated project/program management skills
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
10-15 years account/channel management sales experience
10 years progressive sales leadership experience
Fluency in Spanish & English
Proficiency in Portuguese
