Staff Psychologist

Counseling Center Staff Psychologist: Villanova University seeks a doctoral level clinical or counseling psychologist to fill a ten month per year staff position opening in August, 2013. Primary job responsibilities involve the provision of counseling services for students, faculty and staff. These services include individual and group counseling, emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and outreach presentations. The psychologist will maintain all clinical records using the standard database (Titanium), and will attend clinical/administrative meetings, as scheduled. All work is performed under the supervision of senior staff in keeping with the requirements of Pennsylvania law and professional ethics. The psychologist also will be part of the on-call rotation, responding to mental health concerns after hours.

A completed internship and a postdoctoral fellowship in a counseling center setting is strongly preferred but not required. The candidate should be able to be license eligible in Pennsylvania within fourteen months of being hired. The salary is competitive, and the position comes with the full range of benefits.

The current staff tends to view case material from a generally psychodynamic perspective, although clinical services are offered on a short term basis only.
Job Requirements
  • Earned, completed Doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology. License eligible within 14 months in Pennsylania
