Job Purpose
To manage, develop and mentor Trainee Engineers and Junior Technicians in all aspects of their practical development by executing a tailored On Job Training program.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
Lead, develop & mentor Etihad Trainee Engineers & Technicians by monitoring and conducting on-job performance feedback and coaching to ensure that set annual aims and objectives are achieved and at the same time contribute to the on-going continual professional development of the individuals concerned.
Produce, devise and implement relevant policies and procedures specific to this position & the development of the Technical training function in line with regulatory requirements and corporate demands, creating an opportunity of growth and development for all employees.
Supervise the development process of Trainees Engineers in accordance with Career Development Paths and through conducting annual performance reviews.Ensure all Trainee Competency shortfalls are highlighted and addressed in a timely manner.
Perform maintenance certification duties as an authorized aircraft engineer by displaying proper procedural implementation and leading by example.
Where appropriate implement or provide advice on necessary changes in order to ensure quality standards and best practices are maintained.
Maintain and update staff training records of the Technical Division
Facilitate the department's technical training goals by ensuring all training competencies are completed in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements
A valid GCAA license and or EASA Part 66 /ICAO type II and /or an appropriate Engineering degree.Recognized Apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline.
In addition to above; you are required to have the following:
Minimum 10 years experience in Line/ Base Maintenance. 5 years experience in a training role.
Formal technical training in at least 1 Etihad aircraft type
Certified trainer or recognized training qualification
Well developed communication and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent knowledge of engineering standards appropriate for an International airline
In depth knowledge of Aviation regulations (e.g. UAE GCAA or EASA)
Excellent command of English language
Computer literate (Microsoft Office applications)
Excellent presentation skills
Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
